a day in the life

I haven't had time to breath is all I know.

6:30- crawl out of bed
7:30- arrive at headquarters
8:00- orient new volunteers
8:15- start sweating
11:45- break for lunch. Continue driving from fast food chains to post offices and gas stations until everyone is satisfied.
12:50- arrive 5 minutes late at the worksite in order to enjoy 2 minutes alone with an iced coffee.
3:00- volunteers leave. Proceed cleaning up the mess.
5:15- get back home. Read for 20 minutes.
5:30- receive email from headquarters reminding you of your team position, and recent deadlines. Worry about when you'll find the time to get that done.
6:00- start independant service project painting doors at the YMCA.
9:00- change clothes to go out for dinner.
9:45- over beer and a medium rare steak that you shouldn't have, but needed so bad, realize that you led a team to build a full set of staircases and 2 center support walls.
11:20- arrive home to have a moment for yourself.
11:45- zzzzzzzzzzz

You know, when you get back, given your experience, you may have a future in set design.

There's no pay, of course, and the walls are paper thin and get torn down after a few weekend performances, and yet, there's something very cool about people applauding your work.

Called Lenscrafters today - you should have a pair of prescription safety glasses within a few weeks. Merry Christmas???

Hey there working boy.
I am watching Greensburg, and this episode is dealing alot with volunteers coming to help out the people. Just how much it means to these people that someone has come to help, to volunteer is truly amazing. One man said that with every nail nailed, with every shingle laid, it give us incouragement. Hearing that I thought of you and your hammer education. So just think back on how many nails you have nailed thus far and how any more you will hammer, and just how much hope that gives the people whose home you are working on. For these people you have given them a home, a safe place, a better future, and for that all of us should stand up and say thank you "Hollywood".

F.Y.I. Greensburg comes on the Planet Green channel. It's our planet and we all need to make a difference.

Oh yeah, one random thought, I have half of your birthday present, the other half is in transit to me. When it arrives I will find a box that it all fits in, and hopefully oREo is finished with his project for you by then. So even though you didn't want anything for you birthday, since you got the best present ever from your parents, yes I am talking about the Jesus phone, the Iphone if you will. You are still getting something from me.
